Hi all,
The front tyre on the trike I'm re-building is shot and I need some advice on a new one please.
The front end is from an xs750 and the tyre on it is a 100/90H19,would it be best to replace it with a rear tyre/sidecar tyre/off road tyre,if so what sort of size am I looking for.

sidecar duty tyres are ok, cos they are a flat profile, and put more rubber on the road. downside is that you hav to be careful with the weight, depends on the trike, if its a heavy car engined lump, thats a lot of weight on the tyre, which in all honesty was probably designed for a mid 1950's brit single capable of under 60mph. another disadvantage of sidecar duty tyres is that they are a very hard compound, and so dont tend to give a lot of grip. or braking power before they let go. roadbike tyres are probably the best bet. an off road tyre would have its knobbly bits torn off on the front of a trike i would imagine(ouch!)

Id say it depends on your front end.
Assuming its a bike type fork with a decent amount of rake then the tire will angle over as you turn the forks. In that case you need a bike tyre. An off road tread will give you no advantage on road so get a standard bike tyre.

If youve got the heavy duty leading link car engined type trike a car tyre is naturally going to be best bet.
