It's getting there, but I've got a couple of queries:
1 - not urgent) I'm thinking of fitting rear-set pegs on the GT, Raask want about £100 for a pair - obviously I can't afford it -
does anyone know whether a set from a GPz750 Unitrak would fit instead? Would I have to change the whole master cylinder etc.?
2 - a bit more urgent) the fuel tank I've got – After painting the damned thing, I realise that the assole that sold it to me ripped the fuel tap out without making sure the threads are OK.
I tried screwing in my tap from the GT550 as the 750 one's too big, got one bolt in pretty easy but the second decided to strip and rip its head off ? (I'm usually pretty careful).
I've now got a headless bolt stuck in there – what can I do? (I don't really want to buy a new tank at this late stage - especially as it's off a Spectre and they are as rare as rocking-horse sh1t!)
Should I (get someone else to) drill the bolt out and helicoil a new thread or Petseal the tank with just the one hole - the bolt broke off in such a way that its remains outside the tank fit into the hole in the tap nicely so can be patched up from the outside as well.
