View Full Version : Thinkin' about plastic surgery!

Mrs Reject

Been watching that plastic surgery thingie on t.v of an evening and used to be a ward sister at Bupa and attended quite a bit of plastic surgery there, so I'm fairly realistic about the whole process.
I've been planning a bit of a nip and tuck meself as I'm heading for 43 and looking like a crocodile handbag in places. When I've qualified as a podiatrist I thought I might save up and have one of those boob job thingies and maybe a touch of bottox. I don't think I'd do a Jordan though because those puppies are going to look very silly when she's 60 years old! :)
Do you lot think plastic surgery is a waste of money or would you have something done yourselves???

Do the same as the rest of us Mrs R grow old disgracefully, but then again if you think it'll make you feel better, have a bit of a service. :D

It's got to be your choice and if it makes you feel good and happy go for it big time. ;) ;)

Those who don't agree with it just don't go there.!!!!!

She will alright!! Whether Mrs R has owt done or not.

I'm pretty easy going about it all - I'd be happy whether she has surgery or not, fat or thin, I'm there - Simple as that!! Though the thought of enhanced puppies is strangely thrilling :D

Cor! Aren't I the lucky one?

hmmm well I always said it was a dangerous thing to do...having an operation just for vanity, I mean, anaesthetic is dangerous stuff - toxic and everything, plus you hear so many scare stories, once it's been cocked up they can't fix it.

But

now I am getting older things are starting to sag

I don't have any wrinkles but my cheeks are starting to look like one of em bassett hound thingies, and because my stomach keeps expanding due to something the doctors haven't yet discovered, I'm gonna have one of em skin-apron things soon, and that is most definately gonna go for the chop if my problem ever decides to go away

providing sit ups don't cure it that is

plus it will get rid of my stretch marks which are horrendous

but I doubt I'd do anything until I'm way passed 50, that's if I still care *grin*

but

the things that bother me most about getting older are things they can't fix

like wrinkled hands and thinner hair

so I won't rule it out

don't forget what they say about blokes though....

they don't care what you look like

they're just grateful that you've agreed to sleep with them

so fellas, is that true???

or do you all secretly wish your bird had a body like the girls who model for 100% biker magazine?

Or do you just love your girl so much that you don't care about her saggy bits?

getting old is all part of the process, and I guess being healthy is more important than looks fading.

Hi Mrs R, you got to do what you whant to do never mind what other people think.
If you are satisfied with your body great, if your not go ahead and have the surgery.
To me it's not the outside that counts it's whats inside that counts.

twas a thing in the paper yesterday about a fella getting a new member made out of the muscles and skin on his forearm

apparently he was being operated on in the scrotum area when the surgeon accidently cut his urethra (pee tube inside said member) and then the surgeon went a bit beserk and chopped his willy off then cut it up into pieces see the stress some people are under - and when they make a mistake - well, see what can happen? Poor patient was only 35....doesn't bear thinking about

should be safe here though cos this was in Rommania

Plastic surgery has its merits for genuine medical reasons but I wouldn't have any done for vanity. Its what your like, as a person, inside that counts not what you look like.

Mrs R, 43 is a great age, and I should know!!
It's not always about physical form satisfaction, sometimes mental perception of one's ideal look can influence these decisions.
However to be a little bit more scientific, if you wish to send me photos of bits that you think may need some enhancement, I will give you my honest medical opinion.
This offer applies to all the *ahem* older Ladies on the forum. (I.E. over 16)
(Blast!! I think the last sentence may have revealed my shallowness)

Being a Gentleman I couldn't possibly say........

or do you all secretly wish your bird had a body like the girls who model for 100% biker magazine?
She did, but she was a bit Paula Radcliffe in the horizontal jogging department, if you get my drift? So she had to go.

Or do you just love your girl so much that you don't care about her saggy bits?
If she bangs like a 5 bar farmyard gate in a force 9 Gale who cares?

Looks don't fade, they change, some people look better with age! But it's more important what you do surely?

our neighbour recently had a boob job because she was flat chested, and it had really blighted her life and confidence. she had the op 5 weeks ago at a cost of £3600 she has endured a hell of a lot of pain, but she thought it wpuld be worthwile. unfortunately she now has one breast slightly larger than the other. she has been back to the hospital and they told her that very occasionately this can happen. they have told her they can either remove some tissue from the larger breast or use liposuction on it or they can remove the implants completely. my wife toyed with the idea of cosmetic surgery but the experiance of our neighbour has really put her off.

Only you can decide Mrs R! If theres somthing that exorcise and/or diet cant control and its bugging you then I`d say cut it off/ fill it up/stretch it or inject it! Just remember though that these "operations" are only temporary cures for most things and in some cases result in looking like an animated corpse! Friend o mine in Uni had her breasts done and she loved it, at the time! Shes off work now with depression! Dont know if the two are related, but it makes you wonder! After all, most blokes manage through life without resorting to the scalpul! We dont (generaly) wear make up, and face the world "as is" so to speak. I`d say most blokes are fairly comfortable with their looks and dont dwell on the little encroachments of time! I still believe personality and brains will beat looks anyday over a distance! Looks are ok for the short term but what really counts is the person behind those "looks". Anyway, best o luck with whatever you decide on! Remember....beuty is skin deep! Ugly is through to the bone!

Thanks folks, I'm probably the best candidate for nips, tucks and stuff because I don't have any hang ups - me and Mitch play tennis with no clothes on in public for f's sake  Wouldn't bother me if the surgeon turned round and said no particularly, I'd live with that.
However........it would be nice to play nude volleyball without getting knocked out all the time :D and keep father time from the door a bit longer. Wouldn't want to end up like Joan Rivers though

Well my sister and my mom have both had surgery
both have had tummy tucks both had somink on their faces done and my mom has had her neck and eyes as well
they went to greece to have it done and it cost a lot less than britain (it also included a two week holiday in greece)
so going abroad may be worth considering, all your pre and post appointments are done in britain.

i say it's up to the individual.
but the way i see it is when you are 60 you may look 40.
but you are still 60, with all the little glitches age brings. stiffness, not as much energy as a 40 year old.
and where do you stop?
face, chest, waist looks 40. but what about the hands and feet, the throat, the hair.
if you can afford the annual service so be it. but if not you could end up looking slighty odd to say the least.
most people, men and women have cosmetic surgery out of vanity or lack of self confidence, some have a fear of growing old in general.
my advice is if you decide to go for it, make sure its for yourself, not for your partner.
i'm sure mrs r can verify, due to her prior job that its not quick painless procedure.
and any partner who pushes anyone into having the surgery is not really worth being called a partner.
sorry if i appear blunt but i have dealt with a lot of concerned women who are been pushed into surgery.
sometimes because of the oddest reasons, such as catching thier husbands looking at young girls,or porn mags.
well i'm sorry but even if you do end up looking like a miss world girl men will still look at other girls.
we are a strange breed

Yuck, like going to bed with a bouncy castle!!!!!:D

Wise words indeed Mr Dracken, no one should ever get plastic surgery done for a partner, only for themselves and with realistic expectations. Whatever surgery you get there are scars and you have to weigh up whether the scars are better than what was there in the first place.

I think looking good helps people meet/become attracted to each other in the first place, say in a club or something. But after that, it doesn't matter.

I am not hung like a Rhino who slammed his Schlong in a car door, but at least what I have is my own.....I've grown to love him just the same - even in the cold weather.

As far as girlies are concerned, to be honest I have always found that being sexy has a massive amount to do with the state of mind, if you think you're sexy, you act sexy and thus - YOU ARE SEXY.

I have never found the architypal heavily made-up, plastic boobed, fake tanned, collogen lipped, bottox foreheaded lady, anywhere near as attractive as a real life cuddley girl.

.....an all this from someone who put on 10 stone and went bald since he got married...

quite an immotive subject
i am of the oppinion that a persons attitude is what attracts others
if u need surgery to feel attractive then i think it goes a lot deeper than cosmetics
if you are made to feel attractive by ppl around you then you will have no need to enhance/change what u already have
i am quite satisfied with my body,,,although it is ageing ,,,,as my lines and wrinkles show how much fun i have had,,,lol,,,or misery,,,its all part of me.
if it feels good to have surgery then no1 can tell you not to
i am just the kind of person that thinks surgery should be saved for the life threatening, or reconstructive opperations which some ppl need just to be 'normal'
if i ever had enough money to spend on a boob job,,,i personally think i would feel a lot better donating that cash to an organisation that saved someones life,,,,sorry,,,,its just me....this oppinion is subject to change at any time,,,,lol
