Discovered a crack in the gearchange housing (stick end) looks to bad to bridge with a weld, have broken a vw 1303 a while back an kept the g/change housing but is different to the one I got, it is more of a U shape than an oval shape ! (has a cut out in it)
Anyone know any firms that sell this bit of housing or would I be better off tryin to make one usin old un as a copy.

i never deal with big boyz toys. they rarely have what they advertise in stock.
i deal with street style and power. they at least know what they are talking about :)

be very careful of big boyz toyz ive had very poor service unusable parts and lots of grief
they told me there was only two types of distributer for vw's i later found out from a beetle specialist in deeside that there is nearly twenty ....

Cheers Critch, I've has a few dealings with em some good some bad !
I wouldnt buy anything chrome of em (again!) as it is very cheap Tiwanese crap, but found em quite helpful with standard vw bits.
Alot of their stuff is cheap yankie gear an as dracken mentioned they tend to be out of stock on alot of items.
I always thot VW type 1's ran only 2 types of dizzy, vacumn or 009 centrafugal type but I would go with the beetle specialist advice tho.
The best standard part suppliers I've found are GSF = German , swedish an french they are very cheap
