Ford V6, 2.8 with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection out of a 1984 Sierra XR4x4i estate. I've put a weber 38DGMS carb on it and wonder if the ignition will still work if I just keep the transistor ignition module and disconnect the fi electrical stuff? I'm not too keen on just trying it in case the ignition module goes pop :(

theres 2 ways round your problem 1 is to fit a non injection ecu or fit a points dizzy from a 2.3 cortina or granada! if i remember the injection ecu relies on a signal from the fuel system and distributor so there might be a prob! hope this helps!

The original K-Jetronic was a mechanical injection system with continuous flow metered by an air flow sensor. The ignition system was independant. Later the system was modified to icorporate an ECU and various other sensors linked to the ignition, This became known as the KE-Jetronic setup.
So you may be ok depending on whether or not you have lot of additional black boxes.
