BEWARE OF NEW CAR-JACKING SCAM - NOT A JOKE!
This is from a Manchester Police Officer. Imagine you walk across the
car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your
doors, start the engine and shift into reverse. You look into the
rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a
piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So,you unlock
your doors and jump out of your car to remove the paper (or whatever
it is) that is obstructing your view.... When you reach the back of
your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump
into your car and take off. Your engine would be running (Ladies would
have their handbag in the car) and they practically mow you down as
they speed off in your car.

Just drive away and remove the paper from your window later and be
thankful you read this notice.

PLEASE inform all friends and family, especially women. A handbag
Contains all identification and you certainly do not want someone
knowing your Home address, as they already have your keys!!!"

I read that warning the other day as well Pat,can't remember if it was in Streetbiker, anyway even if it IS a hoax you should take note of it cos the idea about doing it is so simple, and would probably work nearly every time.....also it will give little f*ckwit sh*theads who hang around car parks etc looking for the quick steal one more idea on how to rob us all.
The same applies to the one about flashing your lights at cars with no lights on and getting shot at.......you know the one i mean :o . How long before some bored little gang member reads that and starts the thing off for real ?

Be vigilant peeps, but dont be paranoid !

Likewise the Nigerian scams.
It's your money so why give it away to the first con artist.

"If it's on the internet or come via an email then must it be true"

As Dusty has said "Be vigilant - not paranoid"

yep, been there unfortunately, my wife was sitting at a set of traffic lights with cars in front and behind her when she was jumped by five west indians, she had locked the doors but they smashed the passenger window and grabbed her bag, in the struggle she sustained a broken finger and was totally traumatised . the police said they knew the gang but did nothing (no surprise there)
