UKRob for making me realise that the General Service Medal isn't "only a medal",and Fran for making me realise that I did something special, that you're proud of me and making me get my arse in gear to finally have my GSM properly mounted after 25 years.
So,I did it,and I've made up a wee frame for it with a Royal Artillery cap badge as well.

Next time stand at a slight angle from the glass, light reflects off at the same angle as it hits, less flare and reflections.
My old man was a Bombadier in the RA (The Shiney 7th). I have had to try to rebuild his medal collection and have all his war and theatre medals, just can't get his good conduct/long service as it was named.
Be loud and proud that you served your country, wether it's a 'Police Action' or a war. it's easy for the armchair warriors (of which I'm one) to slag off the armed forces of this country but without them we would not have what we have now, Freedom. It may not be the type of freedom that we all enjoy, but it's better than a German Occupation force....... :D

I might even do the same with mine, with the LSGC (15 years undetected crime) beside it. Although, if I was an american service person, after 25 years I could have had my hall redecorated! :D
I don't even know where my gongs are
