Hope folks don't mind me putting this on here instead of The Workshop - mainly as it's not really a request for help - more an update as to what's happening, mainly Mrs R turning cartwheels of joy in't living room (considering how small the living room is, she can't do that many before she hits the wall or flies through a window!!! :D )

Anywho, according to yon gadgie in Essex who's working on the beast, the camchain is worn to hell, however the pistons, rings and barrels are fine - there's still honing on the barrels!

The reason for it burning oil is the Valve Stem Seals that have gone, so they're being replaced.

And the reason for it not pulling away properly has got nowt to do with the jets - it's because some doyland (yorkshire speak for D1ckhead!) has taken the head off at sometime, put the camshafts back in without setting the timing properly on the cams ! The timing was set one tooth back from where it should have been retarding the ignition... nice!

Anyway, all being well, we should have the beast back on the road for Saturday collection :D

Hoorah she says!!

Aha Some good news - transport for the Soggy Moggy then?

Obviously this wouldn't of happened with a 2 stroke (like a bantam)

My momentary moment of pleasure is over, this bike debacle has cost me £650.00 quid which is three quarters of my salary this month and f@ck all to live on for the rest of the month unless I take to the street corner in fishnets and call myself Nancy
Not a happy bunny!!! What dates the soggy? We may come providing we get the student loan I have applied for in time.

The Soggy is Sept 17th - 19th
Obviously as a student you should be skint and owe the bank a lot of money, it is Gordon's unwritten law.
I have a bottle of vodka waiting for you here. I'll even get some tonic, do you want slimline or full fat? I suppose Mitch likes frothy northern ales?

PS Don't tell FT which street corner tho' Nancy!! (Is this a Citizen Smith - Mrs Reject thing like Dr J and Mr H?)

the lady loves her Slimline - as it seems to be working (since our wedding she's lost about 2 stone and a couple of dress sizes!!:D) - must be the Quinine!!

And as for me, funny you should say that, we were in Betws-Y-Coed stopping over on our way to pick up Mrs R's bike in Anglesey - the hotel we were staying at was in the Good Beer Guide and we were supping pints of Tetley's to the wee hours (good for the aching bones two days after my crash!! :( ). It tasted better after 10 years of southern beers (though for some reason when I was back up north, it never tasted as good, so I drank Guinness in Tetley's pubs - they must have changed the recipe). I am also partial the local brew wherever I end up, so if we do make it, I'd be more than happy to quaff that... Though if someone held a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord under me nose, that'd be a different story!!

If Mrs R's bike comes from Wales, that would explain a lot!

It had taken me three days to figure out what Dr J and Mr H means, Mitch finally took pity on me and told me!!! This does not bode well for my career at university:D
We want to come to the Soggy and we'll come IF I an dig up some cash from somewhere *puts fishnets on head and goes in direction of post office with large baseball bat* and we can blag the weekend off work and/or suddenly go down with flu. Might be getting a financial windfall mid month - don't know yet. Don't drink the vodka just in case :D

I thought the idea of fishnets was to wear 'em on the legs and hang about on street corners?
