there are a lot of genuine dealers on ebay but this time of year brings out the scam artists.

beware of sellers with zero feedback or people with very little feedback for buying cheap items who suddenly have a lot of very expensive items for sale.

this link is an example. but i want to state that it is only an example and that this seller could be 100% genuine
ipod (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5830084993&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2F search.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D5830084993%26f vi%3D1)

even if you buy off a seller with a lot of feedback, check how long ago he received the last few as we then have the identity theft twats to deal with.

these are people who send you the "your account needs verifying ones" and a lot of people fill them in thinking they are genuine :(

only if you apply in the first 30 days even then they are limited as to their responsability.

I worry about kkm 's bidders no marks bidding high ... hope he gets his money.

the reason he got away with it was because each conned buyer had only lost approx £3.00 each so the police reckoned it wasn't worth their trouble - tho the guy himself netted over 50k with his scam - he also played the sickness card -- zippymilk -- that was his name - he conned so many people they even had a yahoo group for folk who he'd ripped off

yeah and I lost £3 too

there are a few auctions now where you can buy feedback, these are private auctions so someone who has very little feedback all from the same source and private are dodgy as fook.

had the person come round for the bike and offer me £500 less than they bid for, i told them to get fucked, they never got to see the bike or where it was stored, but just incase the virago is living at the garage at work for a few weeks.......nice and heated and at least i can service her in the warm.....

some peeps use the private feedback to stop spamming :D its become a bit of a nighmare getting spam from peeps cos they have looked thro what the user has bought in the past

That would explain why I got a second chance offer on an item I hadn't even bid on! Must've looked at my feedback and seen something similar. I reported it to ebay & it's not happened since.
