I was chatting to me Dad the other day and he's gonna be pretty much stuck to not doing a lot or going anywhere. Now a while back before all this **** happened he said he'd like and an old project to do up (Bike wise that is). He doesnt ride anymore cause he had a serious accident years ago and nearly lost his legs. He's had the odd bimble etc but never really owned a bike since then.
Has anyone got an old British bike for sale, cheap that is that he could work on while he's stuck at home. He's a fantastic engineer etc and to say he knows about mechanics, motorbikes etc would be a severe understatement. Its a pity he sold his lathe etc but he still loves workin on bikes even though he cant make the bits himself anymore.
What kind of bike? An old British tail type maybe, BSA, Greeves etc? I know theyre fetching good money nowadays so im probably asking for the impossible but im hoping to buy this meself and give it him as a present kind of thing.
Dont matter about the condition as long as it aint full of holes and its all there. Any offers would be very greatly appreciated. Just thinking this may keep him interested and active. Oh, nothing big though cause he cant lift weight etc anymore so maybe a 250 2 stroke or the likes.
Cheers one and all.

couldn't find the one I was after - but we have classic mags at the shop - will look in their classifieds

meanwhile try this

as far as this kind of stuff goes - you could try emailing the guy and asking him if you can look at the stuff and make him an offer - not far from you either........

you can do it through us (our ebay ID)

as for trusting - well you don't have to part with your money if you're not happy - you can view it before bidding etc etc

Depends what you call cheap, but Classic bike sometimes has project bikes for a few hundred quid. For an old brit, worth having that is, you are probably looking at around £1,600-2,500 for a runner that needs a bit of fixing. My own BSA cost £2,250 from a dealer. Try private sales or even ask around amongst biker you know. a lot of younger bikers had dads that rode, like yourself and still have old iron stashed away in a shed or garage....
Hope that helps. Keep British Iron on the road...... :D
