Bird flu WTF

I just leared that we are stopping the importation of birds into this country untill this bird flue thingy passes. Well ....have i missed something here cos last time i looked birds could fly and migrate quite happily this time of year and they dont pay much attention to customs and immigration. So the government wont import any parrots or budgies but .............. ah the mind boggles.
maybe the government should be patrolling the wild foul trust areas and leaving out some lemsips

I think it is fair to say that most migratory birds we receive in this country during Summer come from Africa etc, and not from Asia or the Far East. Plus, as the Flu is transfered by birds being in close proximity to each other, stopping imports where birds are crowded into containers is a good and sensible measure.
