never used them myself but was told that if you ride a bike at 70 mph+ for ten miles or more the wind noise can cause perminant damage,anybody out there know the truth about this. please type loud so i can hear you. :confused:

I wouldn't worry about it mate - it wont affect you in any way.

Dunno about earplugs They're muck spreading around yer I think noseplugs are the order of the day :)

undefinedundefinedAt work we have hearing tests anually and the helmet thing was mentioned. I replied that I got just as much wind noise from the guttering on the car. Worst problem is if visor is partly up, can cause a whistling noise that drives you barking..... :confused:

You will only damage your ears if you are exposed to a loud noise repeatedly over a long period of time. Then you are likely to get tinnitus which has been known to drive folks mad. I'd wear earplugs on every long/fast journey.

think about it.... :Dkept with you all the way back from rock n blues. you try riding a dragstar at 90+ for 50 odd miles it aint fun

strange - I remember slowing down towards end of Cat and fiddle to let everyone catch up....

Does wind noise effect memory as well? :eek:

Had a medical for work on monday.Been told heart an lungs are fine,bit of a fat git(hey but I knew that already),however been told that have got significant loss in me left ear.Been advised to wear ear plugs at work and on the bike to prevent further loss.So if ya see me at a do somewhere and I ignore ya make sure you'r shouting into my right ear :)

I used earplugs a while back. I just found riding more uncomfortable, as I felt less aware of what was going on around me.
