with my kids at rallies. I've decided not to bring them until they are old enough to look after themselves. ;) Sidecar was an option as I can't stand trikes...... sure to get a good flaming now

I dont mind kids at rallies, PROVIDED the parents (or gaurdians) look after them and not let them just run loose and impede on others good times.
I dont bring mine as this is my wifes and my time to relax and cut loose, to be ourselves and not parents. We would have to be more attentive and alert if we brought them along.
We do have field parties that they come to, others bring theirs along as well and all are happy.

sounds as if your kids dont get in the way of others times, and thats just fine. Never said we needed a break from them, but this is OUR time.
Personally I think that parenting cannot eclipse the relationship between man and wife, if you dont keep that alive you end up both focussed on the kids, and when they leave you may have grown apart.
Not saying you are wrong, or any who do bring their kids, we dont. What I dont like is seeing kids running around and getting underfoot, trying to take your glass for deposits and not a parent around. Thats a load of shiite.

I don't take my kids to rallies, but then, I don't take the missus either. :D
Seriously though, my kids would get bored, I have taken them to Bike Racing and Bike shows and they would prefer to stay at home with their friends.
My wife is the same, she would come along to a rally, she would probably enjoy herself, but she prefers to stay at home so that her toyboy can visit ;) . Nah, she has her own interests, she makes jewellery, so I go to rallies and she goes to Jewellry workshops.
However, if one of us wanted the other to join them, then we would, without fuss and with enthusiasm and respect for the other persons interest.
We have always been that way.
