I'm sorry to dissapoint but their isnt very much of a side to my story.Been every year since 1897 but last year i thought the marshalls were a bit over zealous with the wristband thing. One time thru the weekend i gave a marshall the usual flash of me band, just to be stopped and have my sleeve rolled up so he could get an eyefull. Thought that was very strange behavior.Perhaps he was incredibly short sighted.

I personally didnt feel the overall atmosphere was as lighthearted as usual, fair dues they have had their fair share of problems in the last few years so being a bit more vigilant can be understood.

Or perhaps its because they shuffled all the stalls about so that i couldnt find anything anymore. Or i got so drunk that i couldnt go on the fair again, or the price of food had shot up etc, etc.blah blah. Or the girlfreind i was with wouldnt stop constantly moanin and bleatin about EVERYTHING.

So thats why i'm avin a year off anyway and see what transpires coz there aint only me who is thinkin along these lines.

Cheery the noo

They also dragged me mate back so they could read the small print on the back of his band as well.

I know this all sounds petty but i was a tad disheartened.

I am a full mag member before anybody sez owt

Have we started using contract security?? I thought it was MAG volunteers - though I haven't been for 2 years...

Garry and I live about 20mins away from Stormin, we usually do it on the bikes but this year we are having a stall there, so come and say hello. If 100% arnt gonna be there you could use our stall as a forum members meeting place (just bring carling to keep me sweet ;) ) oopps and garry likes that stella stuff.

maybe it's me but I only went once and I hated every minute of it and vowed never again!

I only lived round the corner from it so it was easy to get to, but the atmosphere was 'heavy' as opposed to fun, and there were loads of charvas there setting fireworks off horizontally through the tents (very dangerous) and I got no sleep and just didn't like it, mainly cos I found the atmosphere oppressive, dunno, just won't go back. I suppose after only one visit I can't judge (one swallow doesn't make a summer they say), but there are plenty of other rallies which I know will be good.

besides it's a few hundred miles away now

:D

Funny that! I`ve heard a few people complain that they found the "security" to be a little heavy handed! Never seen owt meselfthough! In their defence it has to be said that they have had the odd threat levelled at them, and dealing with the imminant arrival of 20+ thugs at 01:00 am demanding free entry on a field far from anywhere can play on the nerves a bit! Anyway, Im in the position of having to cart Mrs Monkeys tribe there this year so they had better not cause any grief or they can walk home! ;)
