......this might seem a bit stupid , but I've never worked on anything this modern before , so here goes , 1991, FJ 1200 questions .

If I wanted to change the tank( ) could I get shot of the fuel pump ?

Does anyone know if there are airfilter kits for 'em,or if four pipes an' a filter else where would pose serious problems to the runnin' of the machine ?
(Obviously carb fetlin' would be in order, but anything else ?)

As I said earlier , seems a bit daft askin' this , but havin' never owned anything so up to date before , I thought I'd ask first :D :D

Thanks in advance.............

you can change the fuel tank and as long as the bottom of the tank is above the level of the carb float bowls you can do without a fuel pump.

i don't know if k&n do a filter/jet kit for yours. but i do know that "dynojet" do a stage one kit and i think a stage 3 kit also. plus airfilters.

if i understand you correctly you are wondering if it will run ok with 4 seperate pipes.
it will run but the standard system is very good and changing to drag pipes will give you some hassle

Does the fj have its pump in the tank? cos on my exup engined bike its a seperate unit on top of the motor in which case you'd not have to worry about the actual tank as long as it had the same fittings....

Thanks for the answers ,

Draken1, when I spoke of pipes ,I was thinkin' along the lines of four flexible pipes goin' from an external filter to the carbs.I've got a monster of a Laser end can with a 4;1 set up on it,so I think the carbs may well have been upgraded allready.Sorry I didn't explain myself very well.

MrFluffy , it's outside of the tank, but bein' as I'm redoing the electrics ,I'd like to be shot of it altogether.

Ta muchly . :D :D

yes should be no problem doing that on an engine with standard camshafts.
