Biker friendly pub Essex/Suffolk border

A mate of mine has recently taken over a pub in Stratford St Mary just off the A12 ( it is the junction after colchester if you are coming up from Essex or the one before if you are coming from Suffolk ).

The name of the pub is the black horse & he would love to see the pub used more as a bikers pub, ( James and pat are both bikers themselves ) they do not have a website yet but when they do i will post up a link.

Sunday lunch availible at a very good price ( no small dinner this )

they have a field at the side of the pub that can be used for a small rally a fair sized car park ( tarmac ) that could be used for a custom show.

I suppose this is advertising but as the amount of bikers pubs are few & far between & a pub that want to have rallies there is even farther apart I did not think anyone would mind.

the pub is very easy to find turn off the A12 ride down into the village & the Black horse is the 1st building on the right.

Tell james Womble sent you & you might even get a free beer.

When my other 'alf and me next visit my folks in Essex we will make a detour and come off the the M25 onto A12 instead of A127, and try out your mates said pub en route! ;)

About this Womble, I dont mind a bit of publicity for things like this, we should all support folks who are biker friendly.
I only have a prob when a 'newbie' comes on just for the specific reason to post blatent ads and have no intention of joining in at all just trying to get a free ad.

I will be up there tomorrow night as we alternate out meetings between grays & there, I will get James to sort you out a little write up about the pub ( tho i think i will end up doing this myself as he is better at selling beer & riding bikes than he is at writing.

Stratford St mary is a very small village with only 3 pubs in it ( i have been told that 2 will be closing thier doors for good next yr ) if you are coming into the village from the A12 it is the first building on the right you can not miss it.

Called in pub a few weeks ago i hope that he does very well, and will be going over in the near future to maybe sort out putting on something next year.(first wed of the month the hotrods club meet there owesome motors).
Quite handy for me as i only live about 5 miles away.
