Having just come in from playing this afternoon I can say that if a Buell goes round corners slowly there's something wrong with it. :)

Buell is the most fave bike I ever had - voted bike " most likely for me to die on".
They are absolutely nuts and a lot of fun - you can rear wheel steer them out of corners , around the outside of R1's.

If they are going slow - then you are riding it wrong and need to buy a motorised shopping trolley instead. :D

For fear of being lambas.. lembaste.. lambars.. YELLED AT I feel I must protest.

I rides a Harley softail (Heritage). I can assure you it goes round corners well enough in fact on a good day I can stay with most things on the twisties. OK one day I'll come up agin some hot shot racer boy who actually knows how to ride his 600 and I can't play with the nutters who'll do a genuine 130 down the A roads (you wouldn't believe the number of twats who claim they were doing 120 with a Harley up their chuff!).

I've followed and in fact pased a number of sports bikes down the A272 and it's a real buzz to get some pace out of a bike that looks like something out of the 50's.

I've ridden loads of bikes but I really do get more fun per mile out of the Harley than anything else. Oh and until recently there was a Bonneville, a Buell, and an early Trophy 1200 in the garage. In two years I've clocked up nearly 40,000 miles and toured the US and Europe four times. I just can't keep off it. As I work for myself it may bankcrupt me but you're a long time dead eh.

Get your M8 to buy a softail. It looks great, will tour thousands of miles and goes quite quick enough for most folk once you put the stock pipes and air filter in the bin.

Personally I'd go for a Heritage 'cause it's got all the touring kit. You can easily take the pillion seat and bags off when you want (hate the screen anyway!) and it doesn't cost as much as a Fat Boy (stupid name for a bike too!).

Tell him to buy a chop os something, not a f*cking standard 1.
I like harleys an all but turn up at your local WOG meeting and every f*cker will have 1 there.

Am trying to persaude him down the custom route. But seeing as we don't have many Harleys or proper custom bikes up here I am currently giving him the old 100%'s

i was having a look at em the other day..........bikes are ok but some of the masturbators that go with them are enough to put you off buying one.

But have to agree the softtail is a nice bike, and fat boy ffs is that like a nic name in the blue oyster bar.

id suggest a trip south to the big island to a town with a big hardley dealer and tell him to ride a few, they are the only folks round here who let you test ride. a day on some ones elses might even put him off, then he can go buy a brand new triumph.

It will if it's like the Buell I stopped for yesterday.
Rubber band came off going round a very fast corner!
Rider was on his third packet of fags and still shaking when I stopped.

Night train simply because it is mostly sprayed black with very little chrome on it. I have better things to do with my life than polish chrome every weekend, in fact the very sight of a cleaning rag makes me break out in a rash!
My current bike is going matt black all over this year even though it isn't a rat :)

must say it was a tossup between nighttrain and v-rod for the same reason but the rod was just different from all the other Hardly's .......you can get creams for your rash in the chemist :D

I used to think that Hardly's were boring tractors, till I went to Faro on the Duke. I must admit that the 900 was a nippy beast, but was two up and fully loaded. Peeps were taking bets on when the suspension would bottom out. A guy with the lowest low-rider I've ever seen offered to take us part of the way as the rest of us had never done the route before. He said that we would probably get bored as he rode slowly. Fecking Jesus! Half way up the mountain I had to lean into a veeeeery tight bend at around 90mph. Finally got the hero blobs off the tyres and a few skidmarks in the undercrackers............ ;)
