Probably not! He has been moved to a new prison for his own protection and believe me, £700,000 buys you a LOT of protection in the nick!

Money doesn't make you happy or change your life. If you want to be happy and change your life you can still do it without money if you are prepared to get off your butt, take some risks and be adventurous.
Most rich people are still dissatisfied and wear faces like boots :) They have discovered that no amount of material possessions, big houses, clothes and shoes really changes anything (glasshopper) :)

Erm......I wouldnt mind looking after some rich persons dosh if they are feeling depressed by it! To give is better than to recieve! EVERYBODY REMEMBER THAT! Post your savings to me and have a more spiritual existance! :D ;)

the way I heard it he'd been given a life sentance in '89 and was coming to the end of that term so was in an open prison prior to his imminent release. He could spend 3 days at a time on supervised visits away from the prison, maybe to rehabilitate?? But rules are he was allowed to buy a ticket and keep any winnings whilst at that prison, in that situation...

I wish I was a BIG enough person inside to say...

"well, he paid for his crime by doing his time so he should have a clean slate as he did his punishment and he has as much right to good luck as anyone who hasn't been found guilty of a nasty crime etc etc etc"

BUT I'M NOT

sour grapes etc....but I can think of many more deserving people

:( :( :(

When he gets released he will probably go to Thailand like Glitter did and buy himself a rent-boy.

If he has that sort of money now he should be forced to pay the government back what it has cost them to keep him in prison the remainder should go to worthy courses. After all he has lived rent free etc. for the last x amount of years.

agreed

and that should go for everyone who's been in prison then gets a job when they're released, or people who already have money like Jeffery Archer

should be like bankrupts, ie you keep paying till it's all paid back

Totally agree he should be made to donate all of his winnings into a victims of crime fund where much more deserving cases could be helped to come to terms with the abuse and harm that he and his ilk cause.
Sorry got a bit carried away there :o

Maybe if he was forced to give his winnings away to the family of the victim he would know how it feels to be Raped!

This guy is in Leyhill which is near me, apparently his wife is going to try and claim half of his winnings and pay it out to a victim support group.
