Me Dad was in the Notts and Derbys Sherwood Foresters in the Fifties. he served in Gibraltar, Suez Crisis, Ayden, then spent a couple of years in Malaya as a scout attatched to the 63rd Ghurkas. He carried a shotgun and went through some pretty horrible things apparently. In Malaya he served in Bhatu Pahat, Khata Tingi, Ipoh, Char etc etc. I dont know to much about what he did but i do remember as a kid he used to have terrible nightmares, suffered real bad with Malaria etc etc. He's 67 now, he's not been to well cause he had a new Aorta etc.
Anyway, if anyone knows anyone who served there or in those regiments i'd love to get in touch with them, maybe arrange a reunion or summat.
Soft i know but me Dad's a bloody hero of mine, i'd like to do summat for him.
Soft mode over :D
Any info etc would be greatly appreciated :D

Rob, just like "Friends Reunited" for schools, there is a web site for "Forces Reunited".

It's here (http://www.forcesreunited.org.uk/namearchive/units/ArmyNames/Sherwood-Foresters.html)

Possibly a good place to start?
