View Full Version : A bike question...
Okay as most of you will know I'm in the market for a new bike, I have a restricted budget and I have noticed alot of CBR600F (jelly moulds) on t5he market for less than a grand.
Has anyone owned one, know any gotchas or know if you can hack them about too much?

Get's my vote, to me they always looked like a two-wheeled ford Sierra Jelly Mould (hey wrote that and only just noticed you called it the same...spooky), but only thing I heards wrong with them is a clunky gear change and the occasional cam chain going rattly. When it came out I think it was raved about, good all-rounder and handled well.
Get it, Rat it, ride it. Hard to get even a learner for less than a grand these days.

Got rid of a 89 thou same as that to start off the trike fund. Not very pretty but extremely quick and good at just about everything. Cheap classic insurance and low running costs too. Pretty unbeatable really and typically Honda whatever that is. If you are looking at 6s watch out for ex race bikes, I nearly bought one which had been faked up but I spotted the drilled sump plug and jubilee clip on the oil filter.
Happy shopping ;)

my mate dougie had one and did his level best to blow it up -32000m on the same oil......
he sold it on still running sweetly, the new owner rebuilt the bike and when the engine was stripped there was no damage.......

still querying 125bhp - especially as thats what the GSXR1100 1052 motors make! CBR6 would expect more like around 75-80.

Wasn't johnny referring to the 850?
