I emailed Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA)
as regarding whether they kept a list of trike testing stations
and got the following reply
well i didnt know this and 460mm is not great but it is an interesting snippet of info that may come in handy for someone (someone making a skinny trike that is)
'Thank you for your e mail.
For your information , if the 2 wheels at the back of the vehicle are less than 460mm apart then it can be treated as 1 wheel. If this is the case then the vehicle might then be tested as a 2 wheeled vehicle and require a class II test as opposed to a class III test.
Please contact the VOSA Birmingham Area Office for local knowledge of testing stations on the following tel no: 0121 783 6665'
